Rendalls Competitions Ltd is a company incorporated in Scotland with Company SC703083 having its registered office at 28 Munnoch Way, Plean, Stirling, Stirlingshire, Scotland, FK7 8GA.
This page details the terms and conditions on which you agree to enter into a Competition with Rendalls Competitions Ltd. By entering a Competition you accept these terms and conditions and agree to be bound by them. If you do not accept them, please do not enter a Competition. These Competition terms and conditions shall not create or be construed as creating any form of contract, joint venture or other agreement between you and the Promoter other than in relation to a Competition you have entered.
The Promoter reserves the right to amend or vary these terms and conditions from time to time and you must check them for changes because they are binding to you.
"Closing Date" | means the date advertised on the relevant Competition or such other date as chosen and promoted by the Promoter subject to condition 6; |
"Competition" | means a prize drawn competition entered through the Platform to which these terms and conditions apply; |
"Data Protection Legislation" | means (i) the Data Protection Act 2018 to the extent it relates to the processing of personal data and privacy; and (iii) any other law in force from time to time with regards to the processing of personal data and privacy, which may apply to either party in respect of its activities under these terms; |
"Entrant" | means any person who enters a Competition through a Platform subject to condition 3; |
"Force Majeure" | means an unforeseeable circumstance; |
"Platform" | means the Website and App provided by the Promoter; |
"Privacy Policy" | means the Promoter's privacy policy found at https://rendallscompetitions.co.uk/privacy-cookies-policy/ |
"Prize(s)" | means the specific prize awarded for a Competition in accordance with conditions 7 & 8; |
"Promoter" | means Rendalls or its representatives; |
"Social Media" | means Facebook, Twitter, Instagram Snapchat and YouTube or any other social media platform upon which details of the Competition are displayed; |
"Website" | means www.rendallscompetitions.co.uk |
"Winner" | means the Entrant chosen at random after the Closing Date who will receive the Prize for that Competition in accordance with these terms and conditions; |
1.1 The Competition is organised and run by the Promoter.
1.2 All Entrants confirm they are at least 18 years of age and meet any other legal age requirements associated with the relevant Prize.
1.3 Entrants exclude the Promoter and any persons connected with the running of the Website or Competition in any way.
1.4 The Promoter will be held harmless should any Entrant enter a Competition unlawfully, or in contravention of any laws of their country of residence.
1.5 Upon submission all entries to the Competition will become the property of the Promoter and will not be returned.
1.6 If it has reasonable grounds for believing that an Entrant has contravened any of these terms and conditions or acted in a way that is reasonably considered by the Promoter to be illegal, the Promoter reserves the right to refuse or disqualify an Entrant.
The Competition is not endorsed, sponsored or administered by Social Media, nor is any Social Media associated with the Promoter in any way. All Social Media providers are released from any responsibility in relation to the Competition and the Promoter and any Entrant shall hold all Social Media harmless for any claim raised in relation to the Competition.
3.1 To Enter the Competition the Entrant must first create an account by completing and submitting an account registration form. Where an Entrant does this they agree:
3.1.1 to provide true, accurate, current and complete information as prompted by the relevant form;
3.1.2 to maintain and promptly update their information (by updating it in the account section, or by sending an appropriately worded email to (info@rendallscompetitions.co.uk) to keep it true, accurate, current and complete; and
3.1.3 that they will not impersonate any other person or use a false name that they are not authorised to use.
3.2 The Entrant must not allow any other person to use their account to access competitions available on the Platform.
4.1 Once the Entrant has created an account, their username will be their email address and they will be required to choose a unique password that gives them access to their account. The Entrant is fully responsible for (i) maintaining the confidentiality of their username and password and (ii) editing their username and password as and when required and the Entrant accept full responsibility for all activities that occur through their account. The Entrant agree to:
4.1.1 notify Morag Rendall immediately if they become aware of any unauthorised use of their password or account or any other breach of security by sending an appropriately worded email to info@rendallscompetitions.co.uk and
4.1.2 ensure that they exit from their account at the end of each session. Rendalls competitions limited cannot and will not be liable for any claims, loss or damage of any nature whatsoever, including indirect, consequential or economic losses of profit arising from an Entrant’s failure to comply with these requirements.
4.2 The Entrant agrees that they are responsible for using the Platform responsibly.
4.3 The Platform is intended for use only by those who can access it from within the UK and Norther Ireland currently. If the entrant chooses to access the Platform from locations outside the UK, they are responsible for compliance with any and all local laws where applicable.
5.1 Knowledge, skill or judgment based entry.
To enter a Competition the Entrant agrees that they must undertake a knowledge, skill or judgement based challenge. Entrants must successfully complete and/or satisfy the challenge to be eligible to enter in to the Competition(s) of their choice, and have the opportunity to win the Prize.
5.2 There is no maximum number of entries that can be made by each Entrant.
5.3 By entering the Competition, the Entrant acknowledges that payment will be taken for each entry when they successfully complete and/or satisfy the knowledge, skill or judgement based challenge, and thereby submit an entry and acknowledge that making payment to the Competition does not guarantee in any way that they will win the Prize, or be refunded if they do not win, or under any other circumstances.
5.4 Entrants recognise that they must exercise skill, knowledge and judgement in order to pick the correct answer to the knowledge and skills based entry.
5.5 Entrants may still be charged if they fail to successfully complete and/or satisfy the knowledge, skill or judgement based challenge on the Platform and only completed entries which contain the right answer will make it into the Competition draw.
5.6 An Entrant will be asked to provide their secure card payment details at the checkout to conclude an entry to the Competition. Once the entry is submitted, the Entrant’s payment card will be electronically accepted and securely processed by Trust payments limited the Promoter’s payment platform.
5.7 It is the Entrant’s responsibility to ensure that they have the authority and are able to pay any entry fee and the Promoter will not be held responsible for any interest fees or other charges incurred by the Entrant in relation to their bank or method of payment.
5.8 All Entries to the Competition are final and no refunds shall be made at any time or for any reason subject to condition 6(4).
5.9 Entrants acknowledge and accept that no correspondence will be entered into about the result of the Competition following the determination of the Winner as described below, and that the Promoter’s decision is final.
5.10 In entering the Competition the Entrant has made their own decision through their own enquiries and legal advice where sought.
5.11 Each Entrant agrees that the usual requirements under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 for any goods and services will not apply to this Competition.
5.12 A postal entry route is available by entering the competitions in the following way:
(a) go to the Website and select the competition you wish to enter to view the Competition Question;
(b) send a letter or postcard to Rendalls competitions,28 munnoch way plean,fk78ga
(i) The full complete name/title of the competition that you wish to enter;
(ii) Your full name and postal address;
(iii) Telephone number and email address;
(iv) Your date of birth;
(v) Your answer to the Competition Question.
(vi) State that you accept the terms and conditions and our privacy policy.
5.13 Important Information regarding entries
(a) Postal entries are limited to ONE per postcard . You must not complete any other entry for any other person as this will result in a ban on all future entries by any method. We address check and identify all winners and methods use to circumvent our rules will result on forfeiture of prize.
(b) Postal entries must be received by the Promoter before closing date and each postcard must be sent either by first class or express special delivery . Any postal entries received after this date will not be processed and correct entries will not be entered into the draw.
(c) If Postal entries are received after the competition is closed, they will not be processed.
(c) It is the Entrant’s sole responsibility to ensure that their entry is received by the Promoter in advance of the deadline by
(e) The Promoter is under no obligation to confirm whether or not an entry was received prior to the deadline or whether the Entrant’s answer to the Competition Question was correct.
(f) Any Postal entry not complying with the entry requirements contained in clause 5.12 shall be disqualified and not entered into the draw. One Competition per postcard or letter. BULK entries will not be accepted and if received we will process the first entry in the letter only.
5.14 All entries must be submitted in the English language. Entries in languages other than English will automatically be disqualified and no refund will be given.
5.15 We are under no obligation to correspond regarding postal entries and will not do so.
5.16 The Promoter will not accept responsibility for competition entries that are not successfully completed, are lost or are delayed regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any postal delays, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind.
5.17 By purchasing entries and submitting a competition entry, you are entering into a contract with the Promoter and are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.
5.18 All winners will be identified and address verified, if they have used an address to get around our rules then no prize will be awarded and the draw will be redrawn.
5.19 All Entry lists are Publicly available on our website and will remain so for at least 24 hours after the draw, you can cross reference your name against any entry list.
5.20 – Once a postcard is received, you will allocate a online code and e-mail it to the sender so it could be claimed online by the sender.
6.1 If the number of entries to the Competition does not meet or exceed the minimum number of entries required at the Closing Date, at the Promoter’s option the Competition will either:
6.1.1 close and the proceeds available as the Prize Fund under 6(2) will be awarded in the form of an alternative prize to the Winner in place of the original Prize; or
6.1.2 close and the proceeds will be deemed sufficient to award the Prize.
6.2 The Promoter will be entitled to retain at least 30% of the entry fees to cover administration plus any expenses of the Competition. Should the number of entries not meet or exceed the minimum number of entries required for the Competition the Competition may close in accordance with 6(1) and the remaining balance following closure of the Competition in terms of Clause 6(1), and following deduction of the 30%, plus expenses will then become a prize the “Prize Fund”. A decision will then be made, at the discretion of the Promoters, as to what is to happen to the prize in accordance with condition 6(1) above.
6.3 The Promoter reserves the right to cancel the Competition at any time. Should the Competition be cancelled any proceeds raised at the time of cancellation will be at the Promoter’s discretion awarded in accordance with condition 6(1) subject to the Promoter being entitled to retain any expenses and at least 30% of the entry fees already received.
6.4 The Promoter reserves the right to cancel the Competition for any reason beyond its reasonable control following which Entrants will be refunded within a reasonable period of time.
6.5 The “minimum number” of entries is the minimum number as stated on a Competition’s page that is required to be reached in order for the Competition to be run successfully and not subject to the conditions of this condition 6.
7.1 The Promoter owns any Prize offered from the time the Competition is running until successful handover to the Winner is completed as outlined below.
7.2 The Prize will only be that as awarded at the time of the draw, no alternatives will be offered under any circumstance, subject to condition 7(6).
7.3 There is only one Winner and the Prize is for the named Winner and cannot be given or transferred to any other person.
7.4 Should a Winner reject their Prize for whatever reason, the Promoter is under no obligation to provide another.
7.5 The Prize is subject to availability, non-transferable and there are no cash alternatives, subject to conditions 7(6).
7.6 Should an advertised Prize be unavailable, the Entrant agrees and accepts that they may be offered another Prize up to the monetary value of their initial Prize.
7.7 Should the Prize be a vehicle, it will be transferred to the Winner using the V5 form for the vehicle. The V5 must be completed before the car is handed over. It is the Winner’s responsibility to tax and insure the vehicle prior to collection or delivery, as required, as well as inspect the vehicle upon delivery and/or collection. The vehicle will be awarded as seen with any faults after being awarded no responsibility of Rendalls competitions.
Prize Delivery
7.8 Delivery and/or collection of the Prize will be as agreed between the Winner and the Promoter.
7.9 Should a Prize be collected, the Winner will be required to provide proof of identity, age and proof of entry into the Competition at the time that the Prize is collected which must match that of the details provided when entering the Competition. Should the Winner’s details not match the winning entry, at the Promotor’s discretion they may deem the Winner ineligible to accept the Prize in accordance with the conditions of these terms and the Entrant will not receive the Prize and the Promoter may act in accordance with condition 8(7).
7.10 Delivery of the Prize is not of the essence and the Prize shall be deemed delivered:
7.10.1 on arrival of the Prize at the Winner location, agreed in accordance with condition 7(8); or
7.10.2 if collected by the Winner, when the Winner collects the Prize from the Promoter.
7.11 The Promoter shall not be liable for any delay in or failure of delivery caused by:
7.11.1 the Winner’s failure to provide the Promoter with adequate instructions for delivery;
7.11.2 the Winner’s failure to collect the Prize (if agreed); or
7.11.3 an event of Force Majeure.
7.12 The Promoter will not guarantee the value and condition of the Prize at the time the Winner receives the Prize.
7.13 Until delivered in accordance with condition 7(10), full title and interest in the Prize remains that of the Promoter.
7.14 In terms of a vehicle, the Winner will collect the vehicle from a location agreed with the Promoter specifically in accordance with the terms of condition 7(7) and the rest of the conditions laid out in this clause 7.
7.15 Should the Prize be a specific item, the item will be delivered to the Winner within 21 days of the Winner being chosen and details agreed in accordance with condition 7(8), subject to any delay out with the reasonable control of Rendalls for which they cannot be held responsible.
7.16 Should the Prize be cash, the cash prize will be issued by bank transfer(s) to the Winner within 21 days of the Winner providing to the Promoter details of their chosen verified UK bank account.
7.17 Delivery of Prizes within mainland UK and Northern Ireland will be paid for by the Promoter. For Prizes delivered out with the UK and Norther Ireland, the Promoter reserves the right to request postage and delivery fees are paid by the Winner.
8.1 The Winner will be selected at random from all Entrants whose entry in the knowledge and skills based test has been completed correctly. The drawn will be conducted using Google’s random number generator and the draw will be streamed live on Social Media with a video of the draw being posted on the Platform and Social Media thereafter.
8.2 Prior to the Winner being drawn, the Promoter may run and video a trial draw to show how Google’s random number generator works and that the Competition is being drawn fairly (the “Test Draw”). Entrants acknowledge that any number that is drawn during the Test Draw is not the Winner of the Competition.
8.3 Within 48 hours of the Closing Date, full details of the draw including the date and time at which it will take place will be confirmed and posted via all Social Media and on the Platform.
8.4 If the Competition has ended and the Winner chosen successfully then the Prize will be transferred by the Promoter to the Winner upon delivery.
8.5 The Promoter will have no responsibility over the Prize once delivery is completed.
8.6 If the Winner cannot be contacted by the Promoter within 30 days of being notified of their status as the Winner by e-mail, telephone, Social Media or mail via the contact details submitted along with their entry, the Winner will be disqualified. The original winner will have no claim to the Prize once disqualified.
8.7 Should the Winner be disqualified the Promoter at its discretion will:
8.7.1 select an alternative Winner using the random number generator who will then have 7 days to accept the prize following the same routes of contact as the original Winner; or
8.7.2 retain ownership of the Prize.
8.8 Mistakes are made and should a Winner or Winners be chosen in error, or a mistake made by the Promotor when announcing the Winner or Winners, the Promotor reserves the right to remedy the mistake prior to awarding the Prize. Any correction to a mistake or error made in relation to any Competition by the Promoter will be followed up in writing on Social Media and the Platforms.
9.1 Save for death or personal injury the Promoter will not be liable for any loss (including economic loss) suffered to or sustained by any person or property as a result of any act or omission of the Promoter, nor will their employees or their agents in developing, planning and running the Competition, distributing the Prize to the Winner or following the distribution of the Prize.
9.2 The Promoter accepts no liability for errors or omissions contained within the Prize details, description or specification or any other part of the Platform. It is the responsibility of each Entrant (and in particular the Winner) to satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of any such details and/or any content of the Platform.
9.3 The Promoter will not be liable for any loss suffered by an Entrant as a result of incomplete entries or failed computer communications or for any loss suffered as a result of use of the Platform.
9.4 The Prize is deemed accepted upon delivery and the Promoter will not be liable for any loss or damage suffered or sustained by any person or property as a result of any use or misuse, negligent or otherwise, of the Prize once it has been delivered to the Winner.
Links from the Platform to other sites and advertisements are only for information. We do not accept responsibility for any other sites or any loss you suffer from using them.
11.1 The Entrant acknowledges that the Promoter may collect Personal Data (and defined in the Data Protection Legislation), as defined in the Data Protection Legislation when the Entrant enters a Competition. The Entrant authorizes the Promoter to enter and store their Personal Data in its database to be used for future promotional purposes.
11.2 The Promoter will only use Personal Data if there is a reason for doing so and if that reason is permitted under Data Protection Legislation.
11.3 The Entrant and the Promoter recognise that the Promoter may use contact details and other data including Personal Data given by the Entrant, to promote and conduct Competitions on its Platform in accordance with these terms and conditions.
11.4 The Entrant agrees that the Promoter may (either by choice or at the request of a third party) disclose information or personal data to relevant third parties for the purposes of the prevention of fraud, money laundering, legal or other financial or regulatory reasons.
11.5 Entrants have the right to object to their data being used in accordance with this condition 1 and should contact the Promoter if they wish for their data not to be used in this way and to be deleted by the Promoter.
12.1 In accordance with the [Privacy Policy], the Winner agrees to allow the Promoter to display his or her full name and town of residence on its Platform and social media for the purposes of announcing the Winner of the Competition within 24 hours of the Winner being determined.
12.2 The information of past Winners for completed Competitions can be found on our Social Media.
12.3 Upon delivery of the Prize, the Winner also agrees that they are required to take or have taken photo(s) and or video(s) for promotional purposes, both directly after receiving their win and in the future as and when required. These photos and/or videos may be used in any future promotional material by the Promoter.
12.4 The Promoter does not accept responsibility for entries which it does not receive due to failures in computer systems, other malfunctions, high Internet traffic, hardware failure, software failure, server faults or any other reason.
12.5An entry shall be declared void (without any refund being given) if the entrant engages in:
12.5.1 any form of fraud (actual or apparent);
12.5.2 fraudulent misrepresentation;
12.5.3 fraudulent concealment;
12.5.4 hacking or interference with the proper functioning of the Website;
12.5.5 amending, or unauthorised use of, any of the code that constitutes the Website; or
12.5.6 if the Entrant does not meet the conditions of entry.
13.1 Upon entering a Competition, all Entrants must submit all contact details as requested by the Promoter (which must include and are not limited to valid e-mail, UK or Northern Irish postal address and phone number) which will be used for the following purposes:
13.1.1 to notify the Winner that they have won the Prize;
13.1.2 to post the Winner’s full name and town of residence on the Website; and
13.1.3 to comply with the Privacy Policy.
13.2 All Entrants are solely and completely responsible for providing and maintaining the Promoter with accurate contact details.
13.3 The Promoter will be in no way liable for any failure or inability to make contact with any Entrant due to any errors or inaccuracies in any contact details provided by the Entrant.
13.4 The Promoter has the right and permission to advertise the Prize and any Intellectual Property relating to the Prize (e.g. Name, Logo or wording).

The Entrants and the Promoter recognise that the Competition, its administration and all associated activities are governed by Scots Law and that the Courts of Scotland shall have exclusive jurisdiction in the event of any dispute arising out of the Competition or its administration.
